your Site ID? If you are a Ring member you can find it
here. If your site is not in the Ring, i.e. not shown in the List and you can't find the email sent to you when you applied to join you will have to email. If you haven't joined the Ring yet, your personal fragment will be sent to you by email when you join. Copy and paste it into your page. If there is no HTML fragment on your page nobody can access your site via the Ring. It looks like this: Previous | Next | Random | List | Join/Edit If you are already a Ring Member and you have lost your personal fragment, the code, which can be copied (right-click/Select All, Right-click/Copy) and pasted from the panel - but you MUST replace both " --id-- " entries with your Site ID number or it won't work - is below. If the thought of altering code precipitates your nineteenth nervous breakdown, your personal code is at the Ring Management page. Follow the instructions for remove your own site, below, and scroll to the bottom of that page. |

| FAQ I've forgotten my password, where can I get it? I've put the fragment on my page, but I can't access anybody in the Ring. What's wrong? I want to change the address (URL) of my Ring page and/or change other details. How do I do it? What is the Ring ID? I want to leave the Ring. What should I do? The logo doesn't suit my colour scheme, can I dump it? Who is the 'Ringmaster' ? |
Here. Either the HTML is faulty/inappropriate, or your site is in the queue. Send an email requesting validation of your site - include your Site ID. If there is no problem, your site will be moved to the Ring and you will receive an automated email. If not, we will contact you with a remedy, if possible. From here. You will need your Password and Site ID number. To amend any details you will need to Lock Ring. This prevents the Ringmaster or any other Ring Member from messing up your input. When you have finished, Logout. Yes, LOGOUT! Failure to do this will lock the Ring for 20 minutes - until it times-out. The penalty for this is death or a week's stay at Dismeyland (your choice). Penalty for second etc. infringement is two weeks at Dismeyland. canvas Remove the Ring fragment from your page, and email. If you don't email you will get an irritating series of automated emails saying your fragment is faulty. (The email to us is a condition you accepted when you joined.) - or, you can: REMOVE YOUR OWN SITE. You will need the Ring ID (canvas), your Site ID and Password. Go to the Ring Management page, and scroll down to 'WebRing Members'. Enter the above details and press 'Edit Site Info'. At the next screen, scroll down to 'Remove my site from the Ring'. Select 'Lock Ring' - the page will refresh. Check the 'I'm sure' checkbox and press 'SUBMIT' - the page will then confirm removal. Logout. Yes, LOGOUT! No. Choose another one (how will people surfing the Ring find the 'Next' site when they can't even find the links on your page). There are several others to choose from here. Tom Grandgent. |
